  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 ripe banana mashed
  • 4-5 fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup optional
  • Pinch of sea salt

Method
 

  1. In a mason jar or airtight container, mash the banana with a fork until smooth and creamy, leaving some small chunks if you prefer texture.
  2. Add the rolled oats, chia seeds, and a pinch of sea salt to the container. Stir briefly to distribute the dry ingredients.
  3. Pour in the milk, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract. Stir everything together until well combined and the oats are fully submerged in liquid.
  4. Taste and add honey or maple syrup if you prefer extra sweetness, though the banana and strawberries often provide enough natural sweetness.
  5. Gently fold in half of the sliced strawberries, reserving the rest for topping. This prevents all the berries from breaking down overnight.
  6. Seal the container tightly and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight (8-12 hours), until the oats are soft and have absorbed the liquid.
  7. In the morning, give the oats a good stir to redistribute the ingredients. Add a splash of milk if the consistency is too thick for your liking.
  8. Top with the reserved fresh strawberry slices and any additional toppings like nuts, coconut flakes, or a dollop of nut butter. Enjoy cold straight from the fridge.
