  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ceremonial-grade matcha powder sifted
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey slightly warmed
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk of choice steamed or frothed
  • 2 tablespoons hot water about 175°F

Method
 

  1. Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl or mug to remove any clumps and ensure a smooth latte.
  2. Add the warmed honey, vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of hot water to the matcha powder.
  3. Whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion for 30-45 seconds using a bamboo whisk or milk frother until the mixture forms a smooth, frothy paste with no visible clumps.
  4. Steam or froth your milk to 160-170°F until creamy and foamy. If you don't have a frother, heat the milk gently on the stovetop and whisk vigorously, or shake it in a sealed jar.
  5. Pour the steamed milk into the matcha mixture, stirring gently to combine.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed, then serve immediately while hot and frothy.
